Hola from Santiago de Chile!
My name is Shepard Daniel, and I will be communicating with you over the next few months. I'm an American student studying Environmental Planning at the University of Chile. I'm excited to share my experience with you and hopefully provide a window into Chilean life and culture.
Hi, Shepard! We are so excited to begin our Blog with you. Currently, we have just over 100 students this year in 6th grade, a little lower in numbers than last year. But we have a terrific group of students. We'll send you some pictures of things we have been doing. We had a wonderful trip to Konehete Park 3 weeks ago to conduct a Scavenger Hunt, finding things such as an invertebrate, an oak leaf, and other samples of trees and shrubs found there. There were also Math activities such as counting the number of paddles on the water wheel, while it was moving! We have also just returned from a trip to the Tennessee Aquarium and IMAX. This was a great trip! In Social Studies, we are trying a new project...students are creating their own personal time capsules, which we will seal up in tubs at the end of the year. These will be opened during their Senior year at MHS. We have arranged for the AP there to keep them safe until then. We are brainstorming all kinds of things to put in their time capsules. Do you have any ideas that we might include?
ReplyDeleteConnor wonders, "What do you find to be the most beautiful place in Chile that you have seen so far?" Chris wonders, "What is the most delicious food that you have tried there?"
